Q. What language is BCMS built in?
BCMS is programmed in PHP and uses a MySQL data base.
^ TOP
Q. Can I host BCMS on my own server?
The short answer is yes, but NOT recommended. You can host BCMS on just about any server running PHP version 4.3 or later and MySQL. However, by hosting on your own server, you must take responsibility for all server side problems that may arise due to server software upgrades or other changes. Trouble shooting these problems can be difficult and expensive. By hosting with The Web Department you can be sure that your website will be fully supported both front end and server side.

Building Websites
Q. What languages do you use to build normal static websites?
All our static websites are programmed in HTML and CSS

Q. Can I edit content on a static website?
Yes, if you have a basic knowledge of HTML and FTP.

Q. What is the difference between an HTML website and a CMS website?
The CMS website has a software package that allows the website owner to login and edit the content of the website through a user friendly interface. This software package opens up a huge range of possibilities to further develop the site because it uses a more powerful programming language, (PHP) and a data base.
An HTML website does not have an editing system, and requires knowledge of HTML and FTP to update content.
